"Hollingshead, originally of Hellins in the township of Sutton, Chester, England. The heirs of Sir Hugh Hollinshead, the last of the elder branch, at an early period married into the Family of Ravenscroft: the next line were the Hollinsheads of Cophurst, whose representation was Ralph Hilinhed, the historian whose sister and heir married Corbet, and from the Cophurst family the Hollinheads of Beeg Lawton and Heywood derived. The family seens to have originated in "East Cheshire England".While these authorities do not agree, Sutton being in West Cheshire, England, it is safe to locate the family in Cheshire, England."
