Peter immigrated to Lynn, Essex Co., Massachusetts in 1635. In 1637 hesettled at Sandwich, Barnstable Co. Massachusetts near the PlymouthColony where he must have met his wife, Alice Wright. It is a coincidencethat their surnames are the same. Both lines go back many generationsbefore a possible connection could be made. In 1645 he established andfounded Oyster Bay in Queens Co., New York on Long Island. Peter was aQuaker.

Peter married Alice Wright, daughter of William Wright and Priscilla Carpenter Mrs., in May 1636 in MA. (Alice Wright was born in England and died on 24 Feb 1685 in Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY..)
