1. Married by license in St. Martins. Marriage license bond & allg forJoseph Chatterley and Elizabeth Merry from Diocesan Registry, Lichfield,England.

CHRISTENING:
1. St. Philips. The christening record of Joseph does not give the nameof his mother. Therefore, it cannot be established with certaintywhether he is the sone of Joseph Chatterley and his wife Mary Stone or ofJoseph Chatterley (1725) and his wife Elizabeth (which has been acceptedby previous researchers). It is more likely that he and his sister Mary,are children of Joseph Chatterley and Mary Stone than of Joseph (1725)and Elizabeth. Family group records have been prepared and ancestralresearch is being performed for both possibilities.
