!Sources: Thomas William Hollinghead genealogy family information from Mrs. Ila L. Bauer (Cedar City, Utha in 1965) history, Granddaughter of Louise Aurelia Hollingshead:
This group family record was compiled from Ila Bauer's history; Nelson Stoyell Hollingshead; Ancestors and Descendants, and from a family group record submitted to the LDS Genealogical Library by Emma Smuin. Since there were several discrepancies in the two, these names, dates and places should be considered tentative. We welcome documentation confirming on any part there of; April 1978 Hollingshead's Chronicles. Thomas and his dear wife Aurelia were married in York West, Ontario, Canada. From there they moved to Adams County, Illinois, then to Nauvoo in Hancock County Illinois. Thomas was a master carpenter and wheelwright by trade. He helped build the L.D.S. Temple in Nauvoo, Illinois and had a share in the Nauvoo House. He was also an excellent farmer and he and his sons helped care for the farm of the Prophet Joseph Smith's father. Thomas with his family moved to Salt Lake, Utah in Sept. 1847 and on south to Salem, Utah where they helped build sawmills and grismills for the new pioneers. After the mills were finshed, they helped build homes and household furniture.

THE FAMILY OF THOMAS WILLIAM HOLLINOSHEAD AND AURELIA MATTHEWS history.
At York West, Thomas William Hollinoshead married Aurelia Matthews, a daughter of Dr. Aner Matthews and Rhoda Church. She was born 22 October 1802 in Argenteuil, Lower Canada. Her father was an early pioneer to York West, Canada and was the founder of Churchville, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Matthews was born in 1772 in Hartford, Connecticut. [After the death of Aner, Rhoda married Dr. Nelson Stoyell.]

NEW HORIZONS -NEW FAITH
It was while living in York West, Canada, that the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints [Mormon] brought the Hollingshead family the wonderful message telling them that the true church of Jesus Christ had been returned to the earth after being taken away so many hundreds of years ago. After their conversion to the truth of the new and everlasting gospel, the family of Thomas and Aurelia moved first to Adams County, Illinois, then to Nauvoo in Hancock County, Illinois.
Thomas was a carpenter and wheelwright by trade. He helped build the Nauvoo Temple and had a share in the Nauvoo House. He was also an excellent farmer and he and his sons helped care for the farm of the Prophet Joseph Smith's father .They soon learned that many people in the world did not want to hear the truth, and the antagonism of the outside world grew to great heights. The mobs began to molest the Saints, but the conviction of the believers grew and their faith was indeed great. As their faith grew, so also grew the vengeance of the opposition. When the Saints were driven from their beautiful city of Nauvoo to die or seek new homes in the barren lands thousands of miles westward. The Hollingsheads brilliant minds and able hands proved their worth.
Thomas Hollingshead was one of the fifty Saints who signed a petition to Governor Lilburn W. Boggs of Missouri hoping the government would help them. Dated 22 September 1838 it stated:
Your petitioners, citizens of Carrol Co., Missouri, praying for relief, have been sorely aggrieved by the lawl
