General Notes:
ORIGIN & NAME: "Alice Gaylard (Gaylord, Gaylaud) was the daughter of Hugh Gaylard who appears in Taunton Manor Registers as early as 1573, and was buried at Pitminster, 21 Oct 1614. He was probably the son of Nicholas ande Johane Gaylard, and by 1608 had an adult son George. (The Treat Family, pg 26 as found in Hale, House...pg. 764). ! They came from Pitminster, Somerset, to New England abt 1637. ! "My wife Alis Treat" was mentioned in the will of husband Richard and given all his lands within the boundry of Wethersfield. This will was endorsed and exhibited along with his inventory on 3 Mar 1669/70. "Mormon Genealogies" has her death as Hartford, Hartford, CT. She could have been visiting or living with one of her children at time of her death. Her lands were, however, in Wethersfield, CT. Have found no record of burial. ! DISCLAIMER: In no way could this Alice Treat have died or been buried on 21 Oct 1614 as is listed in the AF under AFN:8JR9-NF. Please note that this date is before her marriage date, and she had ten children all born after that date. This date is the burial date of her father, Hugh Gaylord, and mistakenly assigned to Alice in a Deming History.

Alice next married Richard Treat(Trott), son of Robert Treat(Trott) and Honora, on 27 Apr 1615 in Pitminster, Somerset, England. (Richard Treat(Trott) was born on 28 Aug 1584 in Pitminster, Somerset, England and died on 30 Mar 1669-1670 in Wethersfield, Hartford, CT.)
