Ezra Thornton and wife Harriet had eleven children in all from 1816 to1836. Ezra's daughter Mehetible (Heta) Thornton who was traveling with her widowed mother, Harriet Goodrich Thornton and her 10 brothers and sisters. Heta's father,Ezra Thornton, was one of the many who lost their lives at the hands of the mobsters at Far West, Caldwell, Missouri in 1836.
